Trying to start a fun raising event is a tough business as the main aim to make as much money as possible for the smallest outlay possible. In a way it’s like being given £10 and told to feed and entertain a 100 people, dam near impossible. In reality it’s a number game, the more people you ask the more change you have of running into something. The trick is to try and offer an opportunity to the businesses you are trying to attract. For instance, if you asked a chocolate fountain hire business to cater your fund raiser for nothing what’s in it for them? I mean nothing in this day and age is free is it!? What should be attracting these sorts of businesses is the advertising they will get at the event. If you tell them there’s 400 people attending all bringing their own dips and treats to dip in the fountain then these people are all potential future business.
Sell yourself and sell your event and like I said it’s a numbers game, the more people you contact the more response you will get.
